In 1966 Jack Fitzgerald founded Fitzgerald's Colonial Dodge in North Bethesda, Maryland. The FitzWay is a term used often at Fitzgerald Auto Malls in a variety of settings.  The FitzWay means honesty, good faith, and great service.  Our customers have helped us define the FitzWay over the years. 


Buying Cars the FitzWay:

  • Posted Prices:  Customers are treated the FitzWay in our on-line showroom and in our brick and mortar showrooms where the delivered price is posted on every vehicle we offer.  An Internet price is available to every customer, without even giving your email address.
  • Certified Cars:  The FitzWay is the peace of mind you can expect when you choose a Fitzgerald Certified Used Vehicle, or a factory certified vehicle, because of our comprehensive inspections beyond just the state required safety inspections.
  • 150% Best Price Guarantee:  The FitzWay is the confidence that you paid the best price after your purchase.  Only Fitzgerald guarantees the price you paid was the best price for 5 days before you buy, and for 5 days after you buy.  Signed buyers orders are the only price that most dealers are required to stand by, but because Fitzgerald quotes the Delivered Price, a legal distinction, you can have confidence that our prices will be honored.  If you want a signed buyers order, just ask.
  • We’ll take it back:  The FitzWay is our 5 Day Used Vehicle Return Policy.  If you’re not completely satisfied with a used vehicle (excluding as-is), you may return it within 5 days and 250 miles for a full refund.  Our settlement manager will put that in writing.
  • Loaner Car:  The loaner car is the FitzWay of making sure you never have to worry about alternate transportation when you bring your car to one of our service departments.  We know that customer’s schedules are already hectic, and arranging for people to pick you up could become a headache.  With our loaner car program, you retain your independence because we take care of getting you back on your schedule.

  •      Buyer Protection Plan:  The FitzWay in service starts with your very first appointment for your free oil change.  The buyer protection plan helps you maintain your vehicle according to factory recommended schedules, and offers discounts and no charge inspections to get the most out of your ownership experience.  Coupled with the Loaner Car program, the Buyer Protection plan is a lifetime of worry free ownership.
  •      Systems, not just smiles:  Fitzgerald Auto Malls has great people, and our people are brought into a system they helped create that is certified to the ISO9001: 2000 standards for Quality.  We’re subjected to audits twice a year to prove that our customers are pleased with the treatment by our staff and the quality of our service.  Even the tire pressure gauges used by technicians to check your tires are calibrated to a standard set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

Community Involvement the FitzWay:
  •      Child Safety:  The FitzWay is our commitment to child safety, through the training of our staff in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s comprehensive curriculum for checking and installing car seats.  Each month Fitzgerald offers child safety inspections by appointments at different dealerships.  In addition, there is a monthly event that has become the role model for the country.
  •      Helping the Environment:  The FitzWay is our commitment to preserving the environment.  Fitzgerald is committed to recycling 80% of the solid waste generated at each facility.  From scrap metal to fluorescent light bulbs, Fitzgerald recycled more than 3 Million pounds of material in a single year.
  •      Green Power:  The FitzWay is about doing our part to reduce the effect of fossil fuels on the environment.  All of the electricity at Fitzgerald facilities is purchased from Green renewable energy sources, mostly Wind Power at all of the dealerships in Maryland.
